THE TOURNAMENT FUNDS,

A meeting- of the Queen's Statue Commemoration Committee was held this morning at the office of Messrs Earl and Campbell, Solicitors. There was a large attendance, find Mr Bart Kent presided. The principal business was the consideration of the indemnity asked for by the Tournameut Committee as a condition of the payment over of the funds in hand, and after explanation by Mr Allom, it was unanimously resolved that his action nsi Honorary Secretary in executing the indemnity required be ratified and confirmed. Discussion then took place ns to the date of unveiling the statue, and it was decided to hold this ceremony as early as His Excellency the Governor's convenience will allow.
