THE AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN,
I THE MATCH AGAINST REST OF i AUSTRALIA. . SYDNEY, March 7. The match between the Australian : Eleven and a team representing the Rest of Australia was resumed in splendid ! weather to-day. ! Reedman and Trumper got well set, ■ and showed line play. His century was ! nearly up, when, trying a risky run off a i hit by Reedman, the Sydneyite lost his wicket. Reedman brought his century up by admirable cricket, and had added another eight when Howell brilliantly caught him off his own bowling) His innings puts him in the position or a candidate for the vacant position in the Australian team. Layer and Donnan were then partnered, and after lunch both got going, scoring evenly. With the total at 256, Trumble caught Donnan In the slips. Graham, the next batsman, carefully knocked up 21, when Howell clean bowled him. Giffen joined Layer, who was playing good cricket, and got the bulk of the runs.
