THE EXHIBITION.
'A meeting of the Executive of the Exhibition was held last, evening, Mr A. H. Nathan presiding. The recommendations of the Finance Committee showed that there remained in hand a balance of £1,750, but some
'accounts were yet unpaid. It was agreed to place' £ 500 with the Bank . of New Zealand, and £500 with the . National Bank at fixed deposit for six months. The sale of the buildings was .discussed, the matter having been deferred from last meeting owing to a suggestion made by Mr Napier that the "Government might purchase the building-s for volunteer purposes; Mr Napier stated that since the last . meeting he had received a telegram from the Defence -Minister stating that the Cabinet would consider the matter, but he had heard nothing 'further. The Committee considered
that the matter should be settled as .quickly as possible so as to. curtail expense. It was decided to leave the matter open till Friday, and if no satisfactory arrangements have been < made with the Government, to accept the offer of Mr J. J. Craig.
