AUCKLAND LIEDERKRANZ

Last evening the annual meeting of the Auckland Liederkranz was held in the Ldrne street Hall, Mrs Innes presiding. There was a good attendance of members. The committee, in their annual report, congratulated the members on the success of the past year. The admission of men into the society had proved an advantage, as it enabled the members to perform works for mixed voices, and would lead to an increase of membership. Miss Laura Haven had efficiently acted as hon. pianist since Mr Cyril Towsey's departure. The report expressed regret at Mr Innes' death, and sympathised deeply with Mrs Innes in the loss she had sustained. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The following officials and committee were elected for the ensuing year:—Hon. secretary, Miss May White; hon. treasurer, Mrs Carter; committee, Mesdames Innes, Squirrell. Crawford, Miss E. Tole, Messrs Wallnutt, Lees, F. Parish; hon. pianiste, Miss Laura Haven. Votes of thanks were accorded to Mr Towsey (conductor), to the outgoing committee, and to Mr Squirrell for auditing the accounts.
