Sir, —In reply to 'Fruit and Poultry Farmer' I beg to make a suggestion so as to remedy the existing state of things he complains of; that is, to form an association similar to the Hawera Farmers' Association and others, who have their own auctioneers, who of course study their interests and get the best prices obtainable. Of course in any branch of trade or calling unless there is unity the lazy man gets the greatest picking. If the farmers (fruit or otherwise) were not in the clutches of money lenders and auctioneers they would be able to talk, otherwise they will have to cry dumb.—l am, etc.,
