MR EARNSHAW IN ANEW ROLE.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr Wm. Earnshaw, ex-M.H.R. for Dunedin city, and now in business in Wellington as a brass-founder, ap- . peai-ed before the Conciliation Board ' this morning and interrupted the'proceedings, to state, that he had received a summons lo appear before the Board. Why, he asked, was he called? ' , The Chairman replied that the brassfounders had since, yesterday, been made parties to the dispute in the ', moulding- trade. Mr Earnshaw, Iqak- -^tej ing round, said he' failed to seeJ|j|lfflß other brass-workers present. 'Oofß®■ expect they'll corhe presently,' was the reply. Then spoke .up* Mr D. Robertson (Phoenix Foundry), with, the observation to the »x-M.11.R. f 'We're carrying- out. one of your laws.' (Laughter.) .'Excuse me,'retorted Mr Earnshaw, T beg to correct yau; I always opposed the Arbitration Act.' (A voice: 'Oh, yes; you were one of the middle party.') Mr Andrew Collins (a member of the Board): 'No; he ■■ was a Left Winger.' Mr Earnshaw • smiled and sat back to study the list'- v of items in dispute.
