AUCKLAND, Wednesday.

The market shows little alteration. Fair sales have been made in lower grades of black gum, the result of a concession made in price on the part of sellers. Quotations for East Coast and ordinary gum show no change and little business is passing in these grades. The Star of the -East has arrived and will in due course load gum for New York.' From the departure of the mail on the 24th. of December up to the 31st another 390 tons of gum were .sent in, and for the eleven days of January 263 tons have been received.
