AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.

The monthly meeting of the Auckland Racing Club Committee was held yesterday afternoon. In the absence of the cnairman, Mr Alfred Buckland, Mr John Kirkwood presided.

A letter was read from Mr G. G. Stead offering to donate a 100 guinea cup to the club. It was resolved to accept the same ,and that the donor be written to and thanked for his gift.

An approximate statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the recent summer meeting was submitted by the secretary, Mr Pereival, and this showed that there would be a profit of something like £ 2,500.

A letter was read from the Wade Racing Club, relating to a case of alleged 'ringing-in,' in connection with which a man named F. Kelly had been disqualified for 12 months. It appears that a horse alleged to be known by the name of Xgakaroa was entered and run as Benecia. The committee decided to write to the committee of the Wade Racing Club, asking for fuller particulars, pointing out that the punishment meted out was not commensurate with theserious character of the offence.

The appointment of a delegate to represent the '-club at the approaching conference, to be held at Wellington, on the 21st instant, was considered, and the secretary, Mr W. Percival, was appointed to proceed to Wellington and act for the club.

Leave of absence for six months was granted to Mr Alfred Nathan, who has proceeded to England on a visit.

The following programmes were brought up and passed:—Lake Racing Clnb (March 4), and South Auckland Racing Club (March 11).

The membership roll was further increased by the election of six new members.
