POLLARD OPERA COMPANY.
Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, there was a large audience again last night to witness^ll 'Djin-Djin,' and, as usual, the piece went with a scream from start to finish. There was a large crowd at jjl the matinee this afternoon, the child- Lfl ren thoroughly enjoying themselves. 'Djin-Djin' will be staged to-night, ioi positively the last time in Auckland, and should not be missed. THE FRENCH MAID. On Monday we are promised the <.' latest addition to the Pollard reper-L|| toire in the celebrated musical eor_edyJ|j 'The French Maid.' The plot is s unique, and is developed by a number of extremely funny situations. They'll dialogue is clever, and has almost it'}m Gilbertian flavour, and as the music it, by Walter Slaughter, the composer of the comic opera 'Marjorie,' so well known here, there can be no doubt as to its tunefulness. The full strength of the company will be seen in the cast, including" .Miss Gertie Campion in the name part. The style of characters is entirely new to Mr Polk.rd's clever compary, but that they have mastered them cur Southern ex- || changes amply prove. .jSm
