NORTHCOTE.
The annual concert in connection with the breaking-up of the Northcote School took place in the Gladstone Hall last evening, when the building was crowded ! to excess, the parents of the children at- I • tending in great number.A most enjoy- | able programme was gone through, adult | friends from' Auckland and Northcote | ably assisting the children. Too much praise cannot be given to the manner in which the children performed their respective parts, showing how much trouble and time have been taken by the teachers in training them. Credit must be given !to Miss Newman, the popular assistant ! teacher of the school, for the able and • persevering manner in which she has trained the children, and- the untiring zeal and energy taken in bringing' them to such a state of perfection. With the exception of unseemly interruptions by a few individuals who should have known better, the whole performance was a most successful and enjoyable one.
