j The statutory meeting for (he in- • stallation of Dr. Krson as Mayor of ! Onehunga was held last night. Mr I JjCtking wrote apologising for his ! unavoidable absence through a prior ; engagement, and expressed the belief I that Onehunga would continue to pro- , spcr under the Mayoralty of Dr. Kr--1 son. Having made the usual dci'lnr--1 iition, Dr. Krson reviewed at some ! length the work of the Council for the past year, and outlined his policy for the ensuing year. Messrs Rowe, Fleming, and Stoupe eongrai dilated the Mayor on his re-election, i and assured him of v continuity of their support as members of the i Council. Mr (I. .J. Jackson spoke as a , ratepayer, nntl said he wiix thorough;ly in accord with the desire of Dr. i Krson and the Council to make Onehunga the most salubrious town in ; the suburbs of Auckland. The Mayor briefly returned thanks, and the! j meeting terminated. I Mr H. .1. Crrenslnde was installed | Mayor of Thames yes;><n!:iv and w.'ts i presented with a handsome silver ens- | lift! containing a piece of the first , sod of the Thames-Auckland railway ; turned by Sir George (Irey on the lilst December.
