While a number of cases of AVolff's schnapps, which arrived from Sydney by the Elingamite on Monday, were being examined by the Customs' officers to-day, it was found that from each case one bottle of spirit had been abstracted. The cases were so cleverly closed again that there were no external marks to show that the pilfering had been going on. Other cases of spirits had three or four flasks removed. '1 his had evidently been done in the London docks or on the voyage out.
