At Mr R. C Carr's auction rooms today a residence in Valley Road was offered for sale, but was passed in at '.£370. Negotiations are proceeding and the property will probably be sold privately. A pircel of 2000 shares in the Golden Valley G.M. Co. was sold for £15.
The Auckland Choral Society announce the first concert of the season 1898-9, consisting of Handel's Messiah,' to be given in the Choral Hall on the evening of Tuesday, December 20th at 8 p.m. The services of the principals engaged at the Exhibition conserts having been secured through tne courtesy of the Exhibition Executive, the committee announce that the seve* ral parts in the oratorio will be sustained by the following artists: Miss Large, soprano; Madam Dtt Rieti, contralto; Mr John W. Hill, tenor; Mi John Protise. bass. Conveyances will leave Ponsonby, Parnell, Newmarket;, Mount Eden and Mount Roskill at - p.m., and Devonport ferry tee at 7.20.
