THE SHAREMARKET.
Sales of Talismans took' place today on the Exchange at, 11/G to 11/10, and -subsequently a^ 11/S, with further buyers at 11/6 and sellers at 12/. It is singular that with a, record return even this slight concession in price'should have been made. May Queen shares firmed slightly, 4/ bejn'cr offered to-day. Moanataiari shares were without inquiry, but Tararu Creeks had steady demand at 1/6 and Great Barriers at 2/. In standard lmes Auckland Gas shares firmed 2/6;. buyers offering £14 7/6 for old issue. The new issue were in demand at £10 5/. Hikurangi Coal buyers advanced their offers to 9/9, and Westport shares were wanted at GO/. Sharland Drug shares were also better, 12/6 being offered.
