Business was quiet on the Exchange to-day but enquiries were made for Wai hi shares at 85/ and Waitekauris at 28/. The best olfer for Talismans was 11/6, which was declined, although shares were offered at 12/3. In Standard stocks N.Z. Accident shares were wanted'at 24/, Standard Insurance at, 13/3 and Hikurangi Coal at 9/0. Old issue Auckland Gas had enquiry at £14 5/ and new issue at £10 4/(5, but no selling price was quoted. Buyers also came in for Westport Coal at 59/ and for Union Oil at 18/3.
