Mr MatMiewman, late of the Australian Drug Company, Sydney, who brings with hint a large business experience, combined with the "highest .-credentials, has been appointed manager of the Auckland house, and will undertake his new duties in the course of a fortnight. Pending the arrival of Mr Matthewman, Air () wen \yill remain in charge, krhe manufacturing department andlaboratory will continue as hitherto in Auckland, under capable management. The company intimate their intention of carrying it heavier and more varied stock than in the past, and their travellers (in which staff there is no change) will wait on customers punctually to solicit a continuance of the business hitherto accorded to the firm,
-\[r Ruddick. dairy expert, has been visiting the West 'Coast. He thinks there is a bright future before the dair s y industry in that district. A nunTber of the factories are quite un-to-date, and he found a general desire for information. There^is, of course, room for improvement; but, in view of the splendid climatic conditions, farmers could with ease produce butter and cheese ecpial to anything*in the world. He took notes as to&the best site for a central dairy school for the North Island, but has not vet come to a decision. iTe goes Southin a few days. ■
