Tlie Queen ; has consented to act as patron of the i institution, and the Prince of Wales •as vice-patron. Lord Salisbury lias written to Lord 1 Kitchener approving of the scheme. , and expressing 'his belief that it , would prove an admirable civilising 'mission, lie hoped wealthy Fnglish- | men would support the proposal. 1 The Baroness Htirdett-Coutts has | appealed io Englishwomen to aid i Lord Kitchener and l.:m asked the colI onies to contribute funds.
