For 2-L hours from 9 a.m. this day: Captain Edwin reports at noon:—Wind: Gale probably with rain and from be-
tween north-east and north and west at
all places north of East Cape. Taupo, and Raglan after 20 hours; strong from between north and west and south-west between East Cape. Taupo. and Napier, and gale after from 12 to 20 hours.from between north-east and north and west at all other places. Barometer: Further fall northward of East Cape, Taupo. and New Plymouth; fall again soon elsewhere. Sea: Heavy on both coasts after 20 hours.
Tides: High on East Coast north of East Cape, and south of Napier; good on West Coast north of New Plymouth, and high from thence southward.
