The Premier will to-morrow move a resolution for the reneAval of the 'Frisco and Vancouver mail services for one year.
In order that the order may be forAvarded by the. outgoing mail it has been resolved by the City Council to receive tenders for Avater pipes up to 3.30 p.m. to-morroAv (Friday) as originally intended.
NeAVS from Samoa by the mail steamer to-day shows that nothing further has been done Avith regard to the election of a king. The Samoa 'Herald' of October 15 says: 'It is learned that young Tamasese sulks in his hut in Aana, and that he has sent word to Apia that he has pretensions that ought to be considered. So far as is known he is totally without support, and the Aana people have informed him that unless he is prepared to abide by the choice they make in the coming election of a Icing, he Avill do Avell to leave their district for they will not allow him to foment any disturbances near them.'
There Avas a large attendance at Messrs Baker Bros.' sale yesterday when a small freehold on the Mt. Eden Road Avas sold for £156. The other properties were passed in.
It is far better to coax the liver than attempt to drive it. Llorente's Laxative Pills do not act as a harsh purgative.—(Ad.)
