It is hoped that the step taken by Mr Pittar wil lead to annual intercolonial contests. The club is indebted to Messrs A. B. Donald and W. Jagger for handsome trophies presented, and the committee hopes, as an acknoAVledgment to the donors, that j'acht owners will accord the races for these prizes every support. The closing of the season was celebrated by a very successful smoke concert, and the committee desires to thank the gentlemen who contributed to the programme, and Mr G. 11. Bellamy, who acted as secretary for the occasion. ' Balance-sheet,—The balance-sheet showed that receipts amounted to £124 7/4, and the expenditure to £37 10/7, leaving a credit balance of £86 16/9. NeAv Members. —A number of new members were nominated, and it was decided to ask yacht OAvners to induce their crews to join.
Subscription.—lt Avas proposed to raise the subscription to one guinea, but most of the members considered that this would have the effect of weakening the membership of the club, and it was resolved after considerable discussion to retain the subscription at 10/6 per year. The Season. —It was decided to open the season on November Oth, with a day's cruise, the officers to decide on the rendezvous, and the committee to arrange details
Register. —The attention of the incoming committee Avas drawn to the, fact that Rule 28, providing for the keeping of a register of all the yachts in the club had not been adhered to, and the committee was instructed to enforce the rule in future.
Thanks.—Hearty, votes of thanks Avere passed to the retiring officers for their services, and' to the Harbour Board for the use of the rooms. ■
