CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR CONVENTION.
MISSIONARY MEETING.
At 7.30 o'clock in the evening a missionary meeting was held in Beresford street Congregational Church, which was well attended. Mr C. E. Button presided, and Mr J. P. Hooton officiated at,the organ. Addresses were given upon 'What New Zealand is doing for Missions' by Bey. A. ■ Mitchell (Wesleyan Methodist), Eev. W. Finlay Wilson (Congregational), and Eev. E. F. Macnicol (Presbyterian). Mr John Crook gave a synopsis of the report of the Auckland • Chinese Mission, and the offertory was devoted to that object. A letter was read from the Eev. A. H. Collins.who was still too unwell to give an address on the subject of the evening from the Baptist; standpoint. A circlet of missionary fire was conducted by the Eev. F. Warner.
Yesterday afternoon the 'Sunshine Rally' in connection with the Christian Endeavour annual convention was held in the Tabernacle. The rally was arranged by Misses Wood and Kirk, and was largely attended. The united societies sang the actio?-. songs, 'Beautiful Flowers' and 'Lilies,'a.nd a 'Flower Recital' and 'Star Exercise' was given by the Newton juniors. Solos were rendered by Misses Hawkes and Wood. The Eev. W. A. Sinclair, who presided, gave an address, which was attentively listened to.
