A concert in aid of the Mercer school fund was held in the Garrick Hall at Mercer on Friday evening last, when there was a large gathering from all parts or tne district attracted by the excellent pro-; gramme provided for the occasion. in| stage was very tastefully decorated ;»na.. presented a pleasing appearance, Miss White, the lady teacher at the P u°^ school, deserving much credit, for her skill in arranging the decorations.
