RACING FIXTURES.
AUCKLAND AND THAMES DATES,
(By Telegraph—Own Corresponde-nt.)
WELLINGTON, this day
The Colonial Secretary adheres to the position that in the matter of permits eight existing1 clubs ought to be maintained, and the larger clubs should have no claim to special consideration. The Auckland Eacing Club is a case in point. Hitherto they have had only three clays' racing in summer, namely, December 26, January 1 and 2, but now they proposed to race also on December 27. ' The Colonial Secretary has suggested to the A.R.C. Committee to take December 29 for an extra day's racing, as the Thames has for some years held their races on December 27 and 28, and wish to continue o nthose dates. It is understood that Mr Carroll would like to see the dates all arranged for the next year's fixtures before the Eacing Conference meets, so that, in the events of dates clashing, that body may be consulted.
