CHARA.-In loving memory of my dear mother, who departed this life September 2ith. 1897. Dearest mother, thou hast left as, We thy loss most deeply feci; But 'tis God who has bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal. O. silent grave, to three we trust This precious part of earthly dust; Guard it safely, sacred tomb. Till we, her children, ask for room.

A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home Which never can be filled.
