DEATH OF CAPTAIN STEELE.

HAMILTON, this day.
Captain Steele died very suddenly here about half-past four yesterday afternoon. He had been in the township during the afternoon, and had just returned in las bug"V to his home at Teiapa, a couple ofmires' out -of Hamilton. While he was engaged unharnessing las horse he fell° down, and expired shortly afterwards. Deceased, who was about 70 years of age, came to Waikato in command of one of the Companies of the 4th Waikato Regiment, and had resided here ever since. Deceased leaves a wife, one. ! darHiter(MrsH. Reynolds), and onesonnow !in London. Deceased's iiigt wile died some 10 or 12 years ago, and deceased married a daughter of Captain Runciriian, of Newstead. He had not enjoyed the best of health- latterly, and yesterday morning complained of'pain across the chest. The supposed cause of deatli was heart disease.
