A kinematograph and phonograph entertainment was given in the Helping Band Mission Hall last night in connection with the Young Crusader.. There was a crowded attendance. Mr Charles Cooper acted as scenic operator, and Miss Muhloon presided at the piano. The Rev. W. A. Sinclair moved a resolution expressin--'- regret at tlie action of the Exhibition Committee in connection with the sale of alcoholic liquors at the Exhibition, and protesting against any special legislation bein»' passed to give effect to tins decision. Out^of an audience of over 400 only one hand was held up against the resolution. A forest of hands supported it. The annual meeting of the shareholders of the Opotiki Dairy Association was held on Friday last. Mr J. B. Gow m > the chair the report of the directors indicated continued prosperity. A dividend of 7 p.c. was declared after paying £100 o_t the overdraft, ancl eat lying ill forward. Much appreciation of Iho services of Mr I Johnson the late manager, was expressed, who could not see his way to continue m the position. The factory reopens in September. Messrs J. B. Gow X Abbott, A. Black, A. Steele, JR. M. Black, H. Hogg and A. Parkinson were elected directors.
