A splendid acceptance was made last ni°lit for the New Zealand Cup, the only notable defections being Waiuku and Bob Ray. All of the Aucklanders remain in ■with the exception of Doneraile. Multiform still graces the list, and if Mr Stead finally determines to send his great crack to the post he will prove a difficult customer for the best engaged to dispose of. riie local contingent in Swordhsh, Nestor, bt. Paul Antares, Explosion and lirearm are going on all right, but their respective chances of success can be left for comment till later on. Both Nestor arid St. Paul were well extended one morning during the week, while Explosion is not being spared.
