LATE RACING.
RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES,
(By Telegraph —Press Association.)
CHEISTCHUKCH, this day.
At Riccarton this morning a number of National candidates were sent on fast work. Hussar and Morag went well over some three miles, the former pulling over the other at the end. Penrose beat Moonraker over a mile and a-quarter and South Pacific was better than Nor'west at the end of one round, Claymore being beaten off by the pair. Opai, Missfire, and Magazine were sent together for two miles, Opai finishing in front. Rhino jumped, coupled with Fenwell, the other junipers being Seabreeze and Huntingdon, the latter going as well as usual. Camel was too good for Jib at the end of a mile. Dummy and Muscatel Avere kept at half-pace work. The latter seems sore, and Headford is likewise going short. Others that did good work were Beggarman, Wedlock, Seabrook, Social Pest, Fleetwood, St. Hiko, Titoke, Boreas, Lapidiary and Seabreeze. Magpie was out, but was merely trotted.
