REMUERA BOWLING CLUB.
The annual meeting of members of the Remuera Bowling Club was held at the pavilion last night. There was a large attendance. The t . room was nicely decorated for the occasion, and the Champion Pennant Flag was also displayed. Mr J". Hardie (President) presided.'. Mr R. A. Bodle (Secretary) read the.annual report), >yhich stated that. several improvements had been effected during the year at a cost of £70. Reference was made to the death of Mr Wingate, a member of the Club. The accounts, read by Mr D. Clerk (Treasurer), showed that'the receipts of the year were £411 9s Bd, and after defraying, expenditure there was a credit balance of 18s. .Tbe Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, said? members must all feel satisfied with the progress the Club has made. The fact of flying the pennant flag overhead betokened the kind of stuff Remuera bewlers were made of,The successful win of the ypun^ players at the end of the season, to his mipd, was the best test that if the bowlers on the other side of the water expected to take that flag next season they wotikl find lions in the way. The time had come when the Club should give from its funds a pair of champion bowlsforcompetitipnamongstmembers. No further expenditure upon the grounds and buildings would be necessary for some time, They had capitalised the improvements or the past year, and arranged to increase the mortgage from £300 to £500 at five per cent, interest, doing away with bank overdraft, which would be a saving of £9 at the lower rate of interest. The large holders ef debentures had agreed to a reduction of interest tP five per cent, and no doubt the others would fall into line. The report and accounts were adopted, The Chairman presented the prizes, won during the season to the successfull competitors as follows: President's prize (Mr J.
