Henry Anderson, master of theTe Kapu, ■was fined the minimum penalty of f 1 for a breach of the Post Office Act in leaving port for Gisborne without giving at least 24 hours' notice to the postmaster. . !
The Supreme Court opens to-morrow with a moderate calendar, comprising eight charges against nine prisoners. WELLINGTOX this day.
The number of teachers holding State certificates is 4,443, of whom 1,252 men, 67 married and 1,312 single women are still employed in the public schools.
