THE LAW OF LIBEL.
SYDNEY, this day. The Attorney-General has drafted a new Libel Bill. -It provides, inter alia, that fair and accurate reports by newspapers of judicial proceedings arid: public meetings shall be privileged. It also authorises magistrates to deal with trivial offences in a summary manner and impose fines not exceeding £50.
