COMMERCIAL.
Potatoes.—The condition of the potato market in Auckland at the present time may be estimated from the fact that some of the shipments sent up from the South on the Wanaka for Auckland merchants were sent straight on to Sydney, having been sold at a profit on that market Some other shipments by the Westralia that arrived last Monday have been similarly dealt with. Flax—Transactions in flax took place yesterday as high as £17 10/, but the demand is not strong.
