NORTHERN S.S. CO.'S MOVEMENTS.
IMPORTS. Per Wanaka, from the Soutlwl-100 ton 3 genei'al produce. The barque Mary llasbrouck finished her loading of kauri gum for New York this afternoon, and will drop out into the stream to-morrow, sailing on Tuesday. Owing to the inclemency of the weather, the s.s. Westralia is detained at "Wellington till to-morrow and is not expected to arrive at Auckland until Monday morning, Her departure for Sydney has consequently been postponed till S p.m. on Monday. The Collector of Customs here has received the following telegram: -- 'Tho Brampton buoy, at Russell, has been driven ashore, and the Hcrmiono buoy lifted out of position. The harbour master will re-lay them as son as the weather moderates. Warn vessels going to Russell and give information to the press.' The s.s. Upolu arrived from Westport at 0.30 p.m. to-day. She left Auckland at 8 p.m. on the 10th inst., called at Wellington on the 13th, JLyttelton 35th, Dunedin 16th. Arrived Westport 19th. Loaded coal and sailed on the 20th at 11 p.m. Experienced light wind and S.W. swell to morning of 22nd, thence strong easterly gale and heavy beam sea accompanied by heavy rain to Cape Maria Van Dieman, thence to arrival strong N.W. wind and heavy confused sea. Had Tiritirl . abeam 10.30 a.m. 24th and arrived as stated. The Upolu has on board 500 tons of coal for Fiji, for which group she leaves at 10 o'clock to-night.
