This Borough is generally recognised as one of the most progressive and prosperous inland towns in the colony. Ths ratepayers have authorised the borrowing of £30,000 for the purpose of constructing water and drainage works at a special rate of 1/1 in the £ on the rateable value of all property within a special area,, which rateable value, rental value, is now approximately £24,186, and will probably increase annually. This special rate will produce approximately ■£lo()9 per annum, and this rate and the works are offered as security for the loan. Tenders are hereby called for the whole or part of the loan such tenders to state rate of interest required by tender. Term of Loan, 30 years, interest payable half-yearly.
