DAIRY INSPECTION.

A meeting of thej Sub-Coinmilteo of the Dairy Conference was held yesterday afternoon at the Municipal Puddings, when a ; number of recommendations to the Con- | feience were agreed upon, after discussion. It was decided to recommend that 10-al boilies be urged to conform to clause l\ of the dairy regulations in respect of keeping registers -. also, that copies of the regula- | tions be posted in all public places. Further, that the Inspector he instructed 'to visit premise-, at least once a month, and that a copy of his monthly report be supplied to all contributing bodies. The meeting also recommended that Clause 10 of the regulations be deleted, and the following substituted '"That all persons keeping a cow; within any id' the boroughs, whether the milk be for private : use or for sale, shall lie registered." other recommendations were -. That every purveyor of milk shall keep a regisler of persons from whom he obtains milk ; that any dairyman having diseased cows shall at once report same to the local authorities; and finally that tho Conference should appoint an assistant expert, and make provision for a salary for that, ollieer. These reconiineiulntions will be conveyed to the local boards interested, and will be dealt with at a full meeting of the Conference, to be held on Friday '20th, inst. The meeting was originally fixed for the Kith, but the 20th has been decided upon as more suitable for the country delegates.
