UNIVERSITY RESULTS.

DUNEDIN, Friday' At a meeting of the University Senate, the following business was transacted :—
DEGREE OK BACHELOR OP ARTS.
The following additional Auckland candidates were recorded as having passed the final section for the B.A. degree : it. W. Allen, H. Hine, G. W. Fieid, Miss C. S. Smith, W. H. Johnston, C. H. Lawes, P. H. Watts, W. R. C. Walker.
The following Auckland candidates were recorded as having passed the first section of the B.A. degree :—C. E. Fox, in Latin, English, and French; C. A. Semadeni, in Latin, English, political economy, and history ; H.. C. Morrison, in English, pure mathematics, and chemistry; Miss A. M. Dinneen, in Latin, pure mathematics, and biology ; Miss A.E. McPherson, in Latin, French, pure mathematics, and applied mathematics.
It was resolved that the degree of Bachelor of Arts be conferred on the following :—Ernest Ferdinand Gabriel Johansen, James Prendiville, Henry Overton, Stuckey, Katherine Scott, Myra May Rawson, Marie Agnes McEchen, Margaret Florence Olliver, and Harold Purchase.
■ It was resolved that the degree of Master of Arts be conferred on the following:— Wm. Newlands, B. A., David Anderson Sheehan, 8.A., Kate Ishenvood, 8.A., Esther Mary Baber, 8.A., Beatrice Parris Richmond, B.A. a
J. C. Dronigool (Auckland) was recorded as having passed the first examination for the degree of Bachelor of Science, in Latin, English and biology. The following candidates were recorded as having passed the final examination for the degree of Bachelor of Science :—H. F. Skey, Otago; S. T. Brugh, Otago; A. E. Flower, M.A., Canterbury; and J. K. H. Inglis, B. A., Canterbury. It was resolved the degree of Bachelor of Science be conferred on the following : —John Kenneth, Harold Inglis, 8.A., and Arthur Edward Flower, M.A.
The following Auckland candidates were recorded as having passed the examination for the degree of Bachelor of Laws:—H. D. Bamford, in Latin, English, jurisprudence, and constitutional history; G. H. Plummer, in Latin, English, jurisdence, and constitutional history ; A. C. Maginnity, in Latin, English, jurisprudence, and constitutional history. J. C. Bassett was reco-rded as having qualified in Latin, English- and French for the certificates of proficiency, the standard being that of the B. A. degree. It was resolved that the time for receiving candidates' notice for the honours for the M.A., for the B. Mus., and for all engineering examinations in 1898, be extended to June Ist, and that all notices must be accompanied by the prescribed fee, and that the notice will be received,up to June 28th if accompanied by an additional fee of £2 2s.
