WELLINGTON, this day.
A deputation from the ' Women's National Council to the Minister for Education this morning urged the appointment jot /a."'.salaried matron in each of the four principal centres to deal with' neglected children, principally those of vicious parents unconvicted .of crime. The Minister said he had always been surprised' that women had not pressed their claims to representation on Charitable Aid, Hospital Boards, etc.. He could not answer off hand, but Avohld- give the matter careful cphsidera : tion. He was quite 'with the Avoineri in the direction they desired, and would1 bring the question under the notice of his.col/ leagues. Aftcnvards the deputation Avaiteit on/the Minister for Justice, avlio gave a similar reply.
