On the 20th. April the house of Samuel Hicks, coal miner, at Hikurangi," was broken : into, and a box containing £120. and a quantity of jeAvellery Avas removed. The box Avas subsequently found among limestone rocks, 50yds from the house, broken open, the money and articles having been abstracted. Last night aman named; Walter Hansen AA'as arrested by Detective McMahon and Constable Beddek. A sum of £70 was found hidden under the boards in a house lately occupied by accused.; He Avas charged to-day Avitli the theft and iemanded for eight days.- ~'
