ACCIDENTALLY SHOT.

The police received word this afternoon that a main named Bevan, a settler residing at the Wade, had been found dead at Greenhithe, near Pine Island. It appears that Bevan had been out shooting rabbits. Some settlers came across his dead body and a gun near it. No other particulars were to hand up to the time we went to press. The police boat left the wharf for Greenhithe at three o'clock to bring up the body to town.
