MAKING GLOVES LAST.
A plan which adds greatly to the life of ldd gloves has just been brought pat in New York. A manufacturer of fashionable gloves, who occupies a little 'shop on Fifth Avenue, has hit tpon something that makes a glove jtrspiration proof. So many of his customers complained about ruining lifer gloves that he set to work to find something to eliminate this (Mtye. It occurred to him to line a palr.ot o-loves with very thin oil silk, ot tyWcn fine dress shields are made. He tried lining the inside of the palm andJngers and found that he had a glove which perspiration' could not penetrate. His ciistomers are enthusiastic .over his discovery. They say he is a true philanthropist, or, what is better, a genuine humanitarian, or else he would never have jiven them the benefit of a discovery which is bound to be detrimental to his sales. The manufacturer's discpvery will be welcomed by a large number of women of both large and small incomes who have been unable to keep well gloved because of the annoying affliction mentioned.
