Rival 'Buses.—The Traffic Inspector fJf, T. Turner) proceeded against David Parker, 'bus-driver, on a charge of leaving the 'bus-stand out of turn, natnely jl 5.52| p.m. instead of 6.10 p.ni., a tithe given by the Council authorities, ffc stated that the defendant's 'bus started just 2\ minutes after another of his 'bttses and 2£ minutes before Paterson's'bus.~4f J Cotter appeared for the prosecution and Mr Earle for the defence. The latter smb. mitted that Parker's 'bus was entitled't* start at 5.50, his time-table hour, and he contended that unless it could be shown that the defendant wilfully delayed the time he was charged with delaying be could not, be found guilty of an otfetfcft against the by-law.—Evidence was brought with a view to showing that there had been no wilful breach of the by-law.— The case was proceeding this afternoon when we went to press.
