The wreck of the Waitemata Avas successfully blown up on Friday evening by She Torpedo Corps. Two mines Avere placed under the vessel, and by then, the vessel Avas blown to fragments. A large amount of Avreckage came ashore on Tiri and on the beach near Whangaparaoa Point. The expense of bioAving up the vessel is to be borne by Mr D. Gouk, who purchased the ■wreck, and Mrs Jessie Craig, the former owner.
