TO CORRESPONDENTS.

Artificial Manures (J.E.).-Tlie quantity of manure to bo used for each tree avill, in a great measure, depend on the quality of the soil the trees are planted iv. If the soil be ot a poor nature, two pounds of either would not be too much. Again, if the soil is inprotty good heart, one pound would be sufficient. Tho best time to apply either-of those manures is in the spring of the year, after the trees have started into grewth ; they Avill then get tho full benefit. It is possible to get grafts of tho nectarine to take when grafted on to tho peach; but. like all other stone fruits, they arc more curtain if budded. Now is the timo to bud. Cherries are also better budded on to cherry stock. Ido not think they Avould succeed on any other stock.
