IMPORTS.
Per s.s. Ovalau, from the Islands— 2106 bunches, 92 baskets and 4173 cases bananas, 305 cases oranges, and 28 packages sundries.
H.M.S. Torch left Wellington for the North yesterday.
The s.s. Manapouri sailed for the South this afternoon.
A bright masthead light is to be exhibited at South Head, Hokianga River.
The s.s. Westralia left Gisborne at 10 o'clock this morning, and should arrive at about the same hour to-morrow.
The s.s. Hawke's Bay sailed this afternoon for Gisborne. to Complete her discharge and to take in consignments for London.
The barque Empreza, 25 days out from Newcastle to Auckland, passed Cape Maria at 5 o'clock last evening. She should make port to-morrow.
The s.s. Pareora arrived this morning from WestpoTt with a cargo of coal for the Sugar Works. She left Westport
on Wednesday evening, passed Cape Maria at daylight yesterday, and arrived as above.
The s.s. Ovalau arrived at 3 a.m. today from Sydney via the South Sea Islands. Mr Watts, the purser, reports that the vessel left Sydney on 9th ult., and arrived at Suva on the ISth. Left for Levuka same day, arriving on the Uth. J-ieft for Ba, arriving on the 20th, leaving same day and arriving at Apia on the 23rd. Arrived at Vavau on the 24th, and Nukualofa on the 27th. Left for Auckland on the 28th, and arrived as above. Experienced light varitble winds with fine weather throughout -the trip.
