At the Board of Education yesterday, notice of motion was given "That the Board forthwith take the necessary steps to establish technical classes in the large schools near Christehureh, and in other schools, such as Lyttelton, Ashburton, Kaiapoi, Belfast, Lincoln, Leeston, Rangiora, Rakaia, and Oxford, and if necessary to erect or to assist in the erection or furnishing of suitable buildings in which to carry on manual and technical elementary instruction under the provisions of the Manual and Technical Elementary Instruction Act, 1895."
