STRANGLED IN BED

THAMES, this day.

Early this morning an infant child of William Taylor, butcher, aged 15 months, was strangled in .bed. It appears the mother left the infant asleep* and to prevent it falling out tied two stockings round the child's nightdress and fastened them to a nail in the bed. About? o'clock Miss Taylor happened to visit the room and found the child hanging over the side of the bed. _ Dr. Callan was sent for, but life was extinct before he arrived. An inquest will be held this, afternoon.
