THE MORAYSHIRE.
It is about six years since the s.s. Morayshire, of the well-known "Shire" line, paid her first and only visit to tlii:; port. The big steamer arrived once mon this morning, having come from Waitara to take in cargo here for London.^ The second officer reports leaving "Waitara
at 11.10 ,'a.m. on the 24th inst., and meeting with fresh southwest breezes and clear weather to Cape Maria, which was rounded at 11.30 a.m. on the 25th. The North Cape was abeam at 3.35 p.m. the same day, and Cape Brett left behind at 10.'20 p.m. last night, line southerly weather prevailing the whole way down the coast. The steamer entered the harbour at nine o'clock this morning, and was tied up alongside the Railway Wharf at noon. The Moravshire commenced to
load for London this afternoon. She will take in about 10,000 frozen ca'reases at this., port, besides 5,000 hales of wool, and butter and other lines. From here she proceeds to Wellington to complete her loading. Captain G. "W. Banks, until last year in the employ of the New Zealand' Shipping Company, and well known at this port, is in command of the Morayshire. and with him are the following office*: Chief, Mr Robson ; second, Mr Delcomyn ; third Mr Willis, fourth Mr Platts. The engine department is under Mr Butters, the officers associated with him being Messrs Gledd, Lewis, Storker, Donaldson and Anderson, in the order named. The New Zealand Shipping Company are the agents.
