ONE TREE HILL DOMAIN BOARD.
Ab the annual meeting of the One Tree Hill Domain Board, held recently in the Borough Council Chambers, Onehunga, Sir G. M. O'Rorke in the chair, Mr H. B. Morton was re-appointed chairman for the coming year, and Messrs Morton and Gardener were re-elected to supervise the planting, etc. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £207 12s 3d. A number of accounts were passed for payment. Mr G. J. Hutchison was re-appointed secretary. Correspondence was read between Dr. Campbell and Mr H. B. Morton, the Chairman, in which Dr. Campbell stated that it was his wish to make a gift of a piece of land to the Domain Board.
It was moved by Sir G. M. O'Rorke and agreed to, " That a cordial vote of thanks be presented to Dr. Campbell by the One Tree Hill Domain Board for his munificent gift of 6| acres of land to the said Board, also that the Board desires to assure Dr. Campbell that this addition to the One Tree Hill Domain will, independent of the value of the land, be a very great improvement to the present grounds, as the whole of the hill will henceforth be included in the Domain, which can consequently be laid out to greater advantage and more ornamentally than it could be without the addition of Dr. Campbell's gift of 6£ acres of land. The Board feels sure that the people will, equally with the members of the Board, lor ever appreciate the liberality of Dr. Campbell in so beneficently enlarging the One-Tree Hill Domain asa place of public recreation."
Mr 8,. Hall was deputed to arrange for the transfer, and Mr Gardner to supervise the fencing of the land.
