WAIKATO NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, Monday.
At time of writing rain is falling heavily here, and it is sadly needed in the district.
The entries received for the forthcoming meeting of the Waikato Amateur Athletic Club are eminently satisfactory, and considerably outnumber those of any previous occasion. The number includes D. ;Wilson, A. E. George and It. A. Dexter, aud 12 or 14 other Aucklanders. G. B. Beere, who is training for the next championship meeting, will "also be. a competitor iii the distance events, and the meeting between him and George will be looked forward to with interest. It is almost certain that an excursion train will run from Auckland, returning home in the evening, and this should prove most convenient for tiie Auckland contingent.
