F. O'Neill, who escaped from Foxton Gaol, was arrested here" with two others for stealing from a till from the Masonic Hotel.
PALMERSTON NORTH, this day.
Three charges against Patk Mcllroy for breaches of the Bankruptcy Act (laid by the D.0.A.) were called on at the Magistrate's Court to-day and adjourned until Friday.
WELLINGTON, this day
Mr John Endean, of Auckland, has donated a gold medal for the Ladies' match in the Rifle Association Meeting to be held at Oamaru.
The arrivals in the colony during December totalled 2,313 and departures 1,160. Mr H. A. Parker, the well-known tennis player, has resigned from the Government Life Insurance Department. He is leaving for Auckland, where he take.? up his residence.
The dwelling-house of Thoirias Ryan, engineer at Newton, was destroyed' byfire this morning. The house is'insured for £150, and the furniture for £75 in the South British office.
